Venture Capital Interns

In-person (Pacific Place SCBD office) or online, 4 months period.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be assisting the partners and investment-team in the deal-flow processes up to the negotiations with potential portfolio companies
  • You will take care of the valuation and analysis of potential investment cases as well as related market-, industry- and technology deep-dives
  • You will proactively research and analyze market and industry trends to identify the best early stage companies and founding teams 
  • You will give operative support to portfolio companies in online marketing, company building, business development and sales 
  • You will create investment proposals and presentations for internal and external use

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a top-tier university program related to finance, business or engineering
  • Deep understanding of digital business-models combined with the analytical skill-set for data-based evaluation
  • First experiences in high-growth startups, venture capital and private-equity or in other fast-paced environments within investment banking, strategy-consulting or later stage tech
  • Excellent command of English and strong interpersonal and digital communication skills

Finance Director

In-person (Pacific Place SCBD office), full time, permanent position (3 months probation).

Responsibilities:

  • With an emphasis on business strategy and innovation this role will be responsible for the finance organisation structure and ongoing management
  • Ownership of special projects to drive financial and operating performance with a focus on technology design and process automation
  • Financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting and financial control
  • Setting the direction and standards for financial reporting across the business with the mindset of continuous improvement and automation
  • Assist partners in the production of monthly and annual presentation packages to deliver insights on business performance
  • Compile and analyze monthly reporting to include business metrics, results and P&L variances against projections

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years experience within Venture Capital / Investment industry with strong financial planning and analysis as well as financial controlling experience
  • You will be someone who loves creative problem solving and is comfortable challenging the status quo and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in private equity, funds management, or private equity
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance

Investment Strategy & Operations Associate

In-person (Pacific Place SCBD office), full time, permanent position (3 months probation).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Advise on the strategic planning for the Fund including but not limited to

  • Manage Fund objectives and metrics overview
  • Support the Partners by providing strategic input on the Fund’s project portfolio, ensuring that the Fund’s resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to maximize investment contributions towards the Fund’s objectives.
  • Stand in as needed for the Managing Director, including for external representation. Manage best-practice operational processes across Fund operations, investment, and reporting frameworks.
  • Lead organizational and process components of the Fund, ensuring that it functions effectively and efficiently within the investment mandate and thesis
  • Monitor and improve these Fund processes over time, streamlining with related internal staff, resources, and systems.
  • Lead on the organizational components of the required Fund reporting, including the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Report.
  • Align internal capacity, planning, and budget in order to determine bottlenecks, risks, and weaknesses for the Fund.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably with related work experience or a combination of finance and investment background.
  • Program/project management or portfolio management knowledge..
  • Excellent analytical skills, organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing budgets and workflows.
  • Team player and able to work effectively with diverse works groups in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Fund / investment / venture capital operations experience prefered.
